"Linux Magazine" is the tech publication I pick up most often although am not a subscriber (prefer instead to visit the local bookstore where I get to browse other titles while leisurely sipping a lovely cup of tea and end up buying that mag). On occasions, I have picked up "CPU Hardware".
It largely depends on the bookstore's offerings of IT mags rather than how good they are, for example plenty of n00b-ish or end-user magazines which don't appeal to me, and I end up buying the nearest to my interest.

Maximum PC. Not quite a good as they use to be in the old days, but still great bathroom material. I haven't bought from stores in years. Can't beat paying $4-$10 for 1-2 years worth of magazines online.

Guitar Techniques. Oh wait, not quite the same.

On the rare occasion I go for printed material, it would be Linux Magazine or Linux Format. However it's rare because there is no networking magazine, or at least none that I know of and readily available and thats what I would like to read the most about.

It seems that Maximum PC and PC World are fairly popular. I think i may start to pick them up, and from what I see the subscription price isn't bad at all.

Computerworld's slobbering over IE 9 (and just downright poor review in general) loses credibility from me right off the bat.

    Linux Format
The Edge (geeky gaming magazine but I love the style of the magazine)

I actually use Zinio on ipad and the subs are very cheap. I don't really have any complaints at the moment it's a nice app and I don't have a ghazillion print magazines to store everywhere.

Only MAgs i subscribe to are the New Scientist and Focus. Neither are specifice IT.

The NewScientist has a center section on tech and Focus is full of tec and science. I like them casue there bit size chunks about a whole mass of science and tec. If any thing intrests me I go looking for more.

If you use various online stores, yes. Going right through them costs more and nets you their useless discs.

I went through Barns and Noble. One big reason I did is because they accept Paypal. If I buy something online it is generally only through Paypal.
