Sayings:

The constant "high five" or "go team" from executives makes me want to drink a gallon of vodka mixed with anti-freeze every time I hear it…

I use "epic fail" a lot because people are just that dumb :)
    Gameover

Hey nothing wrong with gameover! As long as it's used in the Aliens context: "gaaaaame over maaan"

Not so much in the I.T. world, but in gaming "You're so bad!!!", "QQ more", or "You're a try hard" is so god damn annoying. And for the record, those sayings you've listed apply to many people outside of the I.T. realm as well. And it does get old eventually icon_profileright.gif

Agreed. None of that is particularly IT slang at all.

However, I would have to go with The Cloud.

I agree that this has little to do with "IT" I hear many of these too frequently in everyday places...(so summarizing it to 'business' lingo probably has a place).

The one that drives me absolutely nuts is "I wanted to 'reach out' to you"...or "I'll have to 'reach out' to John Doe..." or "We should 'reach out"...

I wasn't a fan of 'touching base' but why 'reach out'?

I'll add the "oops, My Bad' comment, which seems to have died out, but 10 years ago that one make me cringe.

Clear sign of too many sales people, too many meetings and just too many people worrying about hurting someone's feelings or not covering their butt about something.

    'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?

    Anything "epic" and "comedy gold".

There's also pluralising things like "the Googles and the Twitters".

How about after every issue, your management says something like:

'We need to fix that and make it better'

Nice management there COO. The inspiration is flowing. :)

    Another phrase...

'Sorry for the short notice, but we need this COB today'

Like vulgarity, I don't like it when people overuse memes, it makes me think they either are unable to think for themselves or they have "issues" that they hide behind.

The Cloud is my #1, followed by Epic and then fail.
Hey nothing wrong with gameover! As long as it's used in the Aliens context: "gaaaaame over maaan"

That's exactly what I thought of when I saw that.

As long as we don't migrate our virtualization into the cloud for an epic win for the management home run, we're on base.

I am an "open minded" person man, says a racist dude when it comes to a choice of beef or chicken meet. There is no point in explaining to people like him "WTF" being open minded means.
