It seems logical when you think about it. The words are the same length and contain the same letters as the original word. The fact that we can associate them with words we already know doesn't seem THAT amazing.

Maybe it's because I've came across the same thing in the past.



Interesting stuff nonetheless.

your brain just focuses on the first and last letters of words and even if you the other letters are scramble to a certain extent, your brain came actually see the word it is supposed to be!

I saw that a while back, thought it was cool then. Still cool now. I get a lot of people who have to look 3 or 4 times to actually see how bad the words really are, then they can't believe they were able to read it without much of a problem.
