ICND2 Passed!

in CCNA & CCENT
After 5, yes 5 failed attempts ive finally passed my ICND2 exam! It was so disheartening failing all the time, but this time i literally studied non-stop from my last failed attempt and managed to pass with a 896! I am so happy! After all the hard work i've put in over the last year it's all paid off! So my words of wisdom are dont ever give up, you will get there!

    Congrats man! Perserverance pays off in the end.
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    Used a Mix of Odom and Lammle's books. along with packet tracer for my labbing.

    I think OSPF and EIGRP were the main weaknesses, but i turned them into my strength in the end and obviously it paid off.

    Holy crap dude you just slightly changed my perspective. 5 times....that's amazing. I can't imagine what it would take (personally) to go back and do that another 4 times!!

    We are conditioned to believe we must pass the first time. Maybe it has something to do with traditional academics, but Cisco exams make traditional academia look benign.

    There is a lot to remember. Did they hose you with the details or troubleshooting aspects?

    I ask becasue I have gone over those sections a number of times because fo the amount of detail involved.

    I've failed the CCNA last August and the CCENT back in January and started asking myself if I'm in the right field. Then after reading your post I've become more determined than ever to master Cisco computer networking.icon_study.gif

    thanks for the dose of reality. it seems to me that most posts make me feel as if everyone else gets it easily - not just ccna, but any cert.

    I wish the cert world was different. It seems to me that they kill you with trick questions and trivia all the time. My .02, if you can DO all the tasks that a skill level would be expected to do, then you should be able to get the cert. Instead of so much trivia, it should be more practical.

    Thanks guys really means alot! Studying Cisco is no walk in the park and there are dark days believe me, but if you apply yourself you will get there!
