what happends next?

lets say you are looking for a printer! You use Active Directory to search and find it. When you click on it what happends next???

Im guessing that the regular services takes over. If the printer was on a server then the server would then find the print device that the printer is associated too! And then you use the printer.


If you were looking for a computer such as web server using Active Directory! Then after Active Directory finds it for you, DNS or WINS takes over in translating the host name of the computer to its IP for you and then you get to connect it!

Im I correct about this??
