Is anybody using the Microsoft BPOS?

The reason I am asking is we have a computer that will freeze up when attempting to enter their password. Running Win7 Enterprise

I have tried removing / repairing the .NET framework.
all approved updates installed
I have reinstalled the current BPOS software.
I enabled the logging and have installed the MOSDAL diagnostic software.
Checked all the related services.
Repair / reinstall of Office 2010.

Each time when doing this I can enter the password. Then after logging off or locking the computer, then logging on again, the program will freeze up again.

Calling Microsoft has been useless, as the tech support person "didn't know much about it, as they don't use that software"

Of course, I could just pull the box and reload, but I'd like to find the actual cause.
