I am looking for a good and relatively comprehensive book on networking fundamentals.
The following are two books that I am considering at the moment. I was wondering if anyone here has read both of them and can give me their opinion as to which one is better.
Amazon.com: Computer Networks (5th Edition) (9780132126953): Andrew S. Tanenbaum, David J. Wetherall: Books
Amazon.com: Networking Bible (9780470431313): Barrie Sosinsky: Books
Thank you very much.

RobertKaucher Member Posts: 4,299 ■■■■■■■■■■I like the Bible books. They are generally very good. I was turned off by the cover of the first one.
After you do some basic study I suggest Amazon.com: Architecture of Network Systems (The Morgan Kaufmann Series in Computer Architecture and Design) (9780123744944): Dimitrios Serpanos, Tilman Wolf: Books
that is a really good book that goes over some fundamentals but does not shy away from covering the details. It is new and very up-to-date. -

Timberwolf5578 Member Posts: 22 ■□□□□□□□□□I have decided to purchase the "Computer Networks" book for now. It seems to be a very highly regarded book on networking fundamentals.
Thanks for the responses and recommendations everyone. -
