Help - Post interview

I recently interviewed with a large cloud/server/email hosting company. They flew me out to their location and told me they would let me know by the next day or after. Well I received an email wednesday two days after the interview stating that it would be that afternoon or early the next day(Thursday). I emailed friday and this morning to get a status update. I am by far annoyed with this just due to the fact I don't feel as if I failed the interview bad enough to the point where they would cut off all contact. Thats just rude. They also owe me the per diem of my travels that I have gotten 0 response from.

Should I call them or does anyone have suggestions of the next step.

Ryan

First, I say relax. This is not the time to get anxious and make a wrong move. Things happen that may pull resources in different directions. They could be going through a meltdown or some other issue that is way more urgent than getting back to you. Since they gave you a firm date when they would get back to you, I say go ahead and call and try to gauge what's going on.

I'd give it a couple days. If you don't hear back form them by then just call up there. The hiring process can move slow, and you never know someone might be out of the office or something.

Some companies do get busy, or get side-tracked. This happened to my gf years ago. She was flown to Atlanta for an interview. Rental car reserved, but not paid for by the company.

    Strike 1

Gets to the hotel, has a reservation, but room not paid for.

    Strike 2

Goes to the interview next day, goes well. Gets a flat going to airport, flats not covered by rental co.

    Strike 3

Submitted paperwork to get reimbursed for hotel and car rental, plus cost of flat replacement. Took 6 months to get reimbursed, and then 3 months later she gets a letter saying they are not going to fill the position at this time. Seems right after she interviewed, the co president got fired by the board of directors, and the VP quit after that.

So yeah, things do happen. Give them a few days and then give them a call.
