I seem to be stuck in help desk hell!
After applying to several entry level network positions, the only offers i've rec'd are for other help desk positions!
Granted I was/am good at my job, pandering to public opinion is not my idea of a career, if it was sales or politics would've been my next move!
I have no production experience but I do have a few certs and some active duty military background, but my active duty time was spent on VHF/UHF/HF systems and not with IT. I cut it out of the resume because someone people get the impression that I was a military IT guy (i was un-officially though).
I've gotten a few callbacks from recruiters but instead of the entry level network tech positions, which i applied for, they offer me other help desk gigs instead.
I occasionally (always is more like it) get the cold shoulder once i mention that i don't have any "real world" experience outside of the lab time i spent while in college.
Any tips, advice, or suggestions to finally get that real world experience would be appreciated.
I left my last job because I was saddled with significant admin tasks (filing and reports) and had less time to focus on technical challenges (long story) and not because I was less than competent, actually many of the end users felt more confident in my ability to fix things than some of the dispatched techs.
So, would any of you hire this :

Your resume could use a little boldness (font) and information about YOU.
Work well in cross functional team environment. Facilitator on 2 multi Million dollar upgrades to drive network efficiency and increase ROI (return on investment) could be the install of 2 router to help load balance. Use your experience and equate it to real time environment.
remember you will be working with others and potential employer want to know DO YOU PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS.
Use your time in college, party well with others...:)
thank kinda stuff...
my 2 cent and good luck -

Attaching revised resume
-included logo
-embolden headings and sub-headings
-added peer collaboration bullet
(wasn't too sure where to put it, contemplating a short 3-4 line bio at the top, but thinking i should save that for the cover letter)
