Hellow experts,
I realized that there are certifications from CWNP organization (?).
I don't know the exact name.
Anyway, what is the relationship between network+/Cisco certs vs. CWxx?
My understanding is that CWxx deals more with wireless (wi-fi), which corresponds to 802.11b? or 802.3? (sorry for my lack of knowledge here.)
My plan is to become an information risk analyst/auditor.
I just want to accumulate some network knowledge so I am currently studying network+ and planning to go for ccent and ccna etc.
Where does CWxx fit in here? Are they necessary or would be an overkill?
Please advise.
Thanks,
J

Network + - vendor neutral
CCNA - cisco centric and they also have ccna wireless and ccnp-wireless.
CWXx - wireless vendor neutral -

SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423Yes the CWNP exams will deal primarily with Wi-Fi 802.11 as a whole. It goes much more in depth then the consumer knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n (depending on how far you tread into WLANs)
NOC-Ninja summed up the certs very well.
If you want to learn about Wi-Fi then the CWNP site is place to go.

If your not familiar with Wi-Fi or just want the fundamentals then I would take the CWTS. If you've worked with WLANs a good deal I would tackle the CWNA.
My thoughts on the CWTS exam from CWNP. Another networking blogMy Networking blog
