Network Setup question
JZegers
I recently picked up an ASA 5505, and am planning to setup a remote access VPN. My question is, do i place the ASA in front of the router, or behind my router?
So
Option A:
ASA - - - - - - Router - - - - - - - Switches and other junk
Option B:
Router - - - - - - ASA - - - - - Switches
And with option B, do i just forward the port for the VPN traffic to the asa?

Mate,
Option B
you're ASA will normally have an outside public address

Depending on logical position of the router (whether it's last-mile device) and routing complexity/load, I'd look at the possibility of replacing the router with the ASA.
