need info about A+

hi, I am really serious about taking A+ certification courses but need some info.

1) is it an online course? is it taken in school? or is this just a book the book and study yourself, then take an online test course?

2) how much is it, and where do I pay? I looked on the official site, and nowhere does it mention price.

3) is there only 1 A+ book material or there are options? if so, which one you think is the best?

I been building PCs since 2003 and trouble shooting them on my own. I have never had an IT job before, and everywhere I look they all want A+ cert.. so I'm at a point where I got no choice since I don't even have hands on experience.

1) Not necessary but it could be if the institution offered it. I personally self studied for it.

2) Each exam currently is $177.00. There are two exams required for certification

3) I used the Jean Andrews text coupled with the free professor messer videos.
