Anyone heard of or used Startcom SSL before?
I am looking at securing some of our resources that are accessed externally (spam filter, sharepoint, remote app) with ssl through our TMG server, and am in need of ssl certs w/private key (or in the case of our spam filter, one that is generated from csr). I got shot down on purchasing a wildcard, san, or seperate ssl along with installing an internal ca (he doesn't understand it so doesn't want to deploy it, just like server core).
So, in my searching for free ssl, I found StartCom ssl which provides Class 2 ssl (unlimited) for just the $30 validation fee. That I could probably get approved, and just wanted to know what experience anyone has had with them?
I want to build a stronger case for deploying an internal ca too, but the good thing about StartCom is they are already a Trusted Root Certificate, which would eliminate a lot of the internal ca issues I would still have with end users.
