Practice exam question query

I came across this question in the A+ Core practice exam:

"You need to solve a ghosting problem of a laser printer. What should you do first?"

The exam says it is "Print a couple of BLACK pages".

Shouldn't the answer be "Print a couple of BLANK pages"?

Ultimately, replacing the toner cartridge may be the solution, however.....

as a technician, one of your responsibilties is to 'fix' issues and not merely "format/reinstall" (sorry, common thing I hear from new techs and though it works....doesn't say much about their skill)...I digress.

So, if you are experiencing a 'ghosting' problem, you may be able to print an all BLACK page to discharge the image that may have been left charged to the drum.

Simple solution to see if there is a more major problem - also inexpensive.

Removing the toner, shaking it, etc.. may work also, but sending a BLANK page through will not discharge the drum. So the more likely answer is to get as much toner to the drum and hopefully have it discharge too to the paper.
