Is A+ really worth it?
After working in the IT field for 6+ years and have some certs under my belt I'm considering getting my A+. I'm curious if there is any point? Feels like I'm going back to get my HS diploma after graduating college.

I concur, after that initial IT stage, if you haven't attained A+, there is no need for it. most of those concepts you know already and would be superflous as you know them seeing as you at least have your MCTS -

I guess I'm wondering more if I should just spend the $ to get the A+ so employers know if have it. Even though with my experience it now holds no value to me.
I'm curious, why do you have your N+ and CCENT? -
Asif Dasl Member Posts: 2,116 ■■■■■■■■□□Yeah I don't know why I did it, I had the money at the time and planned to do it. I don't think it holds much value for me. I'm about to sit ICND2 on the 13th and I'm just getting the CCNA in case it might help me down the line, but at present I don't work with Cisco equipment but maybe someday I will...

I decided to study for the CCENT for 3 days(bad idea) and ended up failing with a 650. Re-taking it in approx a week.
I don't use much Cisco equipment either, but unlike the N+, Cisco makes it easy to move up to higher certs if you want to. I plan on making it to CCNP at least. -

If you have the extra time and money, I say just go get it.
