I had a webpage created for me and I am unable to contact the designer for the last 3 months. The site is in dire need of updates. I feel I can now do these updates but have no access to the site. I would like to move the files to a new host but I do not know who the current host is.
Is there a way to find out what company is hosting a particular webpage?

You could probably go to
www.whois.com
and enter the domain name under 'easy domain search' click 'go' and on the next page at the bottom click 'whois lookup'.
