Today I applied for an IT manager position but I'm in the dark when it comes to an interview or really what to expect. For six years now I've been desktop support / help desk. I've been with the company I work for only six months.
I haven't been contacted yet obviously its too soon but now that I've applied its got me thinking and I wanted to ask on here for anyone who got a manager role what was it like? did you transition into it or get put right into it and expected to take your ball and run?
What types of questions or situations come up during the interview? for my entire career so far I've been the person who fixes the end user problems not a manager I think it could be an awesome opportunity but I want to know so much more about the position.
To be honest even if I don't get the job I hope I get an interview just for the experience of not doing just a help desk interview.
Thanks everyone!
