DFS referrals on server not part of the namespace

I have a seemingly strange DFS problem at one of my clients. I have three servers. ServerA and ServerB and members in a DFS namespace & a DFS replication group. ServerC is not part of DFS. My DFS namespace is \\domain.local\Users. I have a share on ServerC also called Users. When a user types in the direct path to ServerC, I.E. \\ServerC.domain.local\Users they are getting redirected to the DFS name space at \\domain.local\Users. If you look at the share properties on ServerC the DFS tab has both servers in the DFS name space listed as referrals.

Does anyone know why ServerC is referring to my DFS name space? More importantly, does anyone know how to disable this "feature"?

ServerA = SBS2008
ServerB = Server2008 R2
ServerC = Server2008 R2
