Hi,
This maybe a very stupid question but I'm using the ASDM to add an Access-list to an ASA. I need to use a hostname but can't see how to do it - it seems you can only specify an IP address ?
I know the ASA can use DNS as I've added my DNS server IP's to it.
Thanks

You could use IP, and you can also use object-groups with ACL's
Are you trying to do something like this?
ASA/PIX 7.2: Block Certain Websites (URLs) Using Regular Expressions with MPF Configuration Examples - Cisco Systems
Reference here, for more info about object groups, regular expressions, etc.
Cisco Security Appliance Configuration Guide using ASDM, 6.2 - Adding Global Objects [Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager] - Cisco Systems
ASDM isn't something I use much, so the best I can recommend is the guide for it, sorry.
As far as DNS, in my reading of the guides, it appeared to be used moreso for inspecting client traffic, not necessarily for looking up items in ACL's. All the instructions for configuring ACL's appeared to reference IP's or object groups, so the regular expressions might be your best bet.Currently Working: CCIE R&S
