AD RMS question

Hi,

I'm reading about AD RMS. I just want to clarify a few things.

Am I correct in thinking that AD RMS is only applicable in a trusted environment (i.e. domain\forest trusts\external trust relationship)?

If someone managed to email out\hand out an AD RMS protected document to a 3rd party, then the document can still be manipulated like any other document on your local PC?

thx

A RMS protected document will persist beyond the environment it was created it. So if you email the document out, the recipient will have to adhere to the RMS protection. IE, if you don't allow the document to be printed, they won't be able to print it. It is just like an Adobe file with securities set on it.
