Once again... I ask for advice

I guess in a sense it's the blind leading the blind but I'm in need of a career.
I'm 37 so I'm not exactly young like alot of people here but I worked a ton of crap jobs due to issues I've had in my life, some my doing, some not really my doing but the past is just the past and I can't really dwell on it.
The most I made in a year was 24k, currently I work for University of Miami as a I'm set to make 27k, this job isn't related to I.T.
Of course I feel pretty bad and I get down alot of myself.
I got a little small place but this is the problem, where I work is in Miami, where I live is in Broward, by the time I get home it's after 6 (I take the train and the bus) and I'm unable to physically attend classes so I have to go online. In my situation I'd rather a big name school than just a school online that no one has heard of, I need to get in the door and make a competitive IMO salary (I know the economy is really bad).
So I was thinking about just scrapping the apartment and moving back home and just getting a part time job and focusing on school.
or
I can go see a friend in another state and just start from scratch up there. Of course up there I'm not a resident until after a year so I'm pretty much SOL until I'm able to get resident tuition rates.
or
I can break my lease and move to Miami and be able to go to school after work since I'm move local and I have more time.
or
I can just stay where I'm at and do something on-line for school.
I've had this problem for years but before I was living at home which was very stressful being older, now things are beginning to look up but I'm still in a position which I'm not advancing like I should.
I have a Network Admin A.S degree but really at my age I don't want to deal with the entry level help desk, 2 week job assignment crap and so forth, I'd rather scrap the degree and something more in demand with a easier time actually getting employment, especially at my age.
If I was married I probably wouldn't flip out so much but I'm not and it's just me trying to figure things out and it's tough. Most broke guys have a woman to help out temporarily lol.

Also - if you haven't already, get your FAFSA done!!! With your current salary you shouldn't even have to pay for school, with Pell grants, etc.
Good luck amigo!Working on: staying alive and staying employed -

+1
With your current salary you could get full pell grants most likely, and not even have to worry about repaying. Swallow your pride, and move back home with your 'rents and get a degree plus certs under your belt. After a couple certs, grab a job at Geek Squad so you don't have gaps on your resume and have relevant IT experience. -
someuser23 Member Posts: 103I filled out the fafsa over the weekend, the results are at home. I think the pell grant was 1250 or 12500, most likely 1250.Ribs still touching....

GT-Rob Member Posts: 1,090My advice is drop out of school and get a real job. You have a degree, and it sounds like you lack experience. Another degree won't fill that void.
Just my humble opinion, but experience is what is needed to move forward in life, even if its those BS helpdesk jobs, its something. You will get your break, I promise, just have to stop spinning your wheels
