Why I'm seeing a 60KB frame? Does it violate 1,500 MTU rule?

in CCNA & CCENT
I use wireshark to analyze the raw network packets captured. I see certain frames carry big TCP packets as big as 60KB, and thus those frames are bigger than 60KB. I remember MTU on ethernet layer is 1500B. Is this expected? In the same file, it looks like frames carrying UDP packets usually are smaller than 1500B.
