Advice for next move?

I've recently applied for a Tier 1 technical help-desk position. They called me in for an interview that I felt went well. Afterwards, I was told that in about a week they will contact me with what is next in the hiring process. It has been about a week and a half and I have heard nothing. Should I just move on, or send them an e-mail asking about the recruiting process? From what I know, the position is still open. I have been reading on TechExams for a while now, just wanted to see what people think.

p.s. I have been applying elsewhere, it's just that this would be an ideal position for right now.

If it were me, I'd send a thank you email (if you haven't already) and let them know if they had any further questions for you that you are available. I find in IT sometimes dates aren't as confirmed as we would like. Maybe an emergency happened and a manager is currently available to go further, they could be on vacation, or any number of issues that tend to arise. Keep doing what your doing and you will find something, but I would follow up with them. Worse comes to worse, say you changed numbers (if you put your cell, put your home phone or vice versa) and say you wanted to keep them up to date. Good luck!
