Jobs *requiring* A+
Given that I've been (very, very) fortunate to always have a job, it seems that when I've looked around at other jobs for fun, the only jobs that require A+ are hourly positions? I can't even recall many salary positions even mentioning the A+ cert...
What are others perceptions/experience with this?

Salary positions require more expertise and knowledge. The A+ cert may be useful when landing the higher salary positions, and certainly the knowledge of the cert is valuable. But if an organization is looking for a system administrator, engineer, or security professional, much of the A+ knowledge is assumed, so it's not mentioned in the requirements.

My breaking in job was doing contract work for Xerox, fixing copy machines. It required an A+ but it wasn't much more than first level tech stuff, however it gave me enough experience to move on to a better position making a salary.

Thanks. I hope the SY0-301 update helps as many people as the first book did.
