Good books after CCNP
Any suggestions for CCNP+ level books relating the R/S? I already have the FLG Library for CCNP and Routing TCP/IP Vol 1 and 2. I plan on taking a short break from certifications after I pass ROUTE and get my CCNP, but would like to keep reading so I don't forget the materials as I don't work with all the technologies every single day.

MPLS would also be very beneficial to learn since it's used in a lot of infrastructure environments in industry now-a-days. It'll also help towards the CCIP or CCIE written later on if you do decide to pursue any of those certs later.

SharkDiver Member Posts: 844I actually just purchased the CCIE Routing and Switching OCG. I already read through the first chapter just for fun. It was 80% review. I don't know if I'll ever go for the CCIE written test, and probably will never go for the lab exam unless my company pays for it, but I just bought the book to read through the MPLS sections. I just installed MPLS for a 13 site bank, and wanted to learn more for future installs.

chrisone Member Posts: 2,278 ■■■■■■■■■□I would look more into books in security and design for now. After your CCNP you are not going to learn that much from the routing TCP books you have. It will be repetitive topics 98% of the time. In the real world you will need to know and understand security and design topics. The network warrior is probably the best book on this list, it teaches you everything! telcom, virtualization, 6500, nexus, everything a high experienced engineer does on a daily basis. Its like having a big brother or mentor in the field and he is teaching you everything he does on the high end top level of the field.

Then pick up the CCDA and CCDP Arch book for design topics. I loved this profesional level cert, it opens your eyes and teaches you how to use what you know. Hands down the ARCH CCDP exam was one of the best exams for myself. It is true the CCDA gets a little dry and you will find trying to motivate yourself at some points, but i still enjoyed the journey away from constant config and CLI studies.Certs: CISSP, EnCE, OSCP, CRTP, eCTHPv2, eCPPT, eCIR, LFCS, CEH, SPLK-1002, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-900, AZ-500, VHL:Advanced+
2023 Cert Goals: SC-100, eCPTX -
Shanman Member Posts: 223I finished my CCNA last month and started ready Network Warrior a few days ago. I absolute love this book and can not put it down. I can see why it gets such high reviews. I have not started my CCNP but I would recommend having this book on your shelf.
