VM boot order
Technito
Do anyone know of a way in the vSphere 4.1 client to boot your VMs in a delayed, specified order? Basically we're having a "scheduled" power outage on a Sunday, 2 weeks from now (unfortunately we don't have a generator yet). And we will have to power down all our servers. Now when we boot the servers back up, we need them to come back up in a select order. Like we will need our SQL and Sharepoint servers to come up before some of the prod servers and so forth.
I'm just looking for a way if possible to do this in an automated way, instead of having to manually start each VM in the order we need. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can do it in the Configuration tab > Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown > Properties
If you have a zillion VMs you can also do it through powerCLI.
