Print Server

What steps should i follow when setting up a new print server in a network.
What i mean is that 1 PC in a classroom will act as a type of server and must be switched on for other computers/users to print from.
Therefore if someone wants to add a printer on a pc in the classroom, they must add the printer that the print server is attached/named to.

Thanks.

I assume you mean that you want to simply share the printer, which will be hooked to a PC.

In that case, just install the printer on that PC, give the printer a name you'll remember, then share it and assign whatever permissions you want to give other users.

To connect, go to another workstation and add a network printer. The format should be something like \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\printer_name

For example, if your IP = 192.168.1.1 and the printer is called 'HPDeskJet'

    \\192.168.1.1\HPDeskJet
