System Admin Role:

Key Responsibilities:
 Reporting to the Team Leader, the Systems Administrator will co-operate and work closely with the
Account Managers and their own team members to ensure efficient, productive and high quality
technical support and customer services to customers, via email (ticket system), telephone, in person
and directly within the live data centres situated around area..
 They will prioritise and ensure that all technical queries and problems are resolved promptly and to
customer satisfaction (where repeated issues, document and ensure information is communicated to
other departments)
 Ensure that regular informational updates are provided to Account Managers and the Head of
Business Unit regarding issues with technical services or where a customer may need some
additional attention due to the technical issues experienced.
 Trouble-shoot and pro-actively show initiative to improve customer technical services, and where
necessary suggest and implement such improvements, both in a process format and via hardware/
software improvements and the supporting and general maintenance of Servers.
 Routine server management tasks and be willing to handle and be accountable for escalated or
problematic support issues and provide reassurance to the customer.
 Resolving general day-to-day customer issues via both email and telephone requests.
 General day-to-day office tasks and other reasonable tasks set by the Team Leader.
 General data base administration and maintenance – in regards to upgrades or additional services to
the customer’s solutions.
 Participate in the shift rota for both days and nights (4 days on, 4 days off).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
 Linux Experience, especially using Redhat Linux, Apache and/or Windows 2003/2008 Server,
IIS6/7,Exchange Server 2003/2007, SQL Server 2005/2008
 Exposure to Plesk, cPanel, Webmin and Helm advantageous
 Technical knowledge of DNS, Email-, FTP- and Web-servers and general system administration.
 Working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
 Working knowledge of computer hardware.
 Candidates should possess a natural initiative and pro-activeness to their method of working, be
open to new ideas.

 A good telephone manner and friendly approach is also desired.
 Be fluent in written and spoken English
 An enthusiastic, driven, committed & flexible approach to work is essential
 Excellent customer service skills required with a good telephone manner.
 Must be a team player but also able to work autonomously & with minimal supervision
 Ability to work well to deadlines and under pressure
 Experience of working within an ITIL/ISO framework an advantage (not essential)
 An element of commercial/ business knowledge.
Mobility Requirements: (requirement for potential on-call duties)
 Must hold clean drivers licence

Network Engineer role:

Key Responsibilities:
 Handle a wide of networking tasks, such as daily checks of network monitoring, cabling requirements,
provisioning of additional network resources,
 Perform, with limited supervision, a range of schedule maintenance tasks and internal network
support,
 Planning and implementing improvements/upgrades in the networks,
 Provide network support to different departments in the organization including handling tickets,
phone requests and network updates related to the core networks and customer solutions,
 Provide advanced Cisco PIX /ASA Firewall support to the other technical departments when required,
 Manage network failures and mitigate any DoS attacks,
 Follow current procedures to document the change or release as well as moving them through the
approval process ,
 Ability to liaise confidently with third-party transit suppliers to ensure effective running of network
services,
 Manage small scale projects that fall within departmental responsibilities and objectives,
 Pro-actively ensure that regular informational updates are provided to Account Managers and
Technical Team regarding scheduled maintenance, improvements or updates to the network.
Ensuring that where maintenance work is required, advance and formal notice are provided to
customers in line with the Company’s SLAs,
 Follow general day-to-day office tasks and other reasonable tasks set by their Line Manager.
 Must be willing to complete additional on-call duties and be flexible to travel between data-centre
locations.
 Working with the provisioning team on complex customer solutions,
 Generating innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with work
problems and opportunities,
 Actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning
opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job and learning through their
application.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
 Understanding of complex global networks: WAN, LAN, Data Center network architecture,
 Strong experience with using Cisco routing/switching equipment and HP, Dlink switches,
 Experience with F5 LTM load balancers,
 Strong experience with Cisco ASA especially VPNs configuration,
 Understanding of the OSI model and associated network service components,
 Experience with routing protocols including BGP & OSPF and ideally EIGRP,
 Experience with switching technologies including STP/RSTP/MSTP, Trunking, Etherchannel, MTUs,
CAM, ARP, CDP.
 Basic understanding of MPLS technologies,
 Knowledge of IPv4 & IPv6 addressing and subnetting,
 Experience working with RIPE/ARIN/APNIC advantageous,
 Experience of using Linux and Windows 2003/2008 Server & Windows XP/7 and working knowledge
of computer hardware,
 Experience with CAT5 cabling and Data Centres cabling management,
 Experience with Data Centres network monitoring including SNMP and Syslog protocols,
 Candidates should possess a natural initiative and pro-activeness to their method of working, be open
to new ideas and hold an enthusiasm to learn.
 A good telephone manner and friendly approach is also desired.
 Be fluent in written and spoken English
