throughput of the GRE tunnel

Hi!

Does anybody know is there any official or non official information about throughput of the pure GRE tunnel (no encryption) on cisco devices? I know that cisco dont recommend GRE tunnels on layer 3 switches (no support in hardware and CPU can be overloaded) but what about routers? I dont seem to find any information on how much throughput should i expect from GRE tunnel with lets say 1800, 2800, 2900 etc routers.

    By default the tunnel's maximum bandwidth is limited to 8Mbps. It depends on the IOS feature set that you have on your current device. The Advanced IP Services feature set will enable the #tunnel bandwidth command for manipulation beyond the default limit.
