Hey guys! I dunno if this is an appropriate thread to put in. I am just curious to know. You know most motherboards these days, especially the proprietary ones. The motherboards that come from HP and Dell. There are no PS/2 ports. All USB. What happens if you disable all the USB ports from the BIOS, and you can't access your keyboard or mouse, which are also a USB keyboard and mouse. There are no PS/2 ports on the motherboard like I said. Is their a way you can access the bios and re-enable them?

With almost any motherboard, resetting the CMOS will restore factory default BIOS settings and as a result give you back your USB ports.
In my experience, most motherboards still include PS/2 ports. Only small form factor systems have a strong tendency to lack them. -
charlesc09 Member Posts: 89 ■■□□□□□□□□thanks guys! I was kinda thinking the same thing. Resetting the CMOS battery. I have a HP and Dell computer at home. Both don't have any PS/2 ports, just USB. But ya when I bought those computers at that time, they were on sale. I think around $450-500 CAD. It was better to buy the proprietary ones at that time instead of building my own. But good to know.

You could always snag one of these,
