Plumbing Tech: Gatorbite is Awesome!
powerfool
I just thought I would share for my fellow tech folks that are DYIers of various sorts.
I had a leak in my outside spigot for a couple of years. It was one of those that closed the valve far inside the wall to prevent this sort of thing... but nevertheless it failed. I repaired it twice a year by replacing the guts of the valve.
Anyhow, I finally got fed up with that. I cut open a hole in the wall with my similar to As Seen on TV multifunction power tool saw from Harbor Freight... then I cut off that spigot. I bought more stuff than necessary, but I bought a new anti-siphon spigot, a Gatorbite shutoff valve, and a Gatorbite elbow joint. Instead of using the pex tubing that I bought, I reused the copper pipe I cutoff for between the valve and the elbow joint. The stuff is flipping awesome. You just insert a plastic gasket of sorts into the pipe and then jam the Gatorbite fitting onto it and voila! You can take the stuff apart with a special Gatorbite tool...
This makes me almost want to be a plumber.
Anyone else use the stuff?

This is what I have used:
SharkBite Fittings | Sharkbite Plumbing | Instant Push Fittings for CPVC, Copper and PEX Tubing SharkBitePlumbing.com
Sounds pretty similar to what you are using.
