Frame Relay query
I am reading the route FLG and there is a EIGRP example over a statically mapped frame relay configuration. There is a note saying that the router R1 has a static map to its own s0/0 interface IP address, in order to allow pings to the s0/0 interface IP from router R1. I am a bit confused re this since I have very little experience with frame relay. Why would this be required? wouldn't a interface IP be placed in the routing table automatically as a directly connected route?
Can anyone suggest some good material to brush up on frame relay skills?

Now ask yourself the same thing but replace ethernet with frame-relay.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
