passed network + friday at 1430...

man, that was a LOT harder than i though. there was a crapload of questions on my exam about MAC stuff, which everyone told me there wasn't!

but all in all, i passed with a 654. i thought you had to have a 663 to pass? the sheet i got after the test said that passing was 554.

anyways, i got my first cert... on to A+!
next time i will be studying a LOT more in depth...

to those who are testing soon, study your scenario questions! i'd say that was about 70% of the test! i only had 1 or 2 port questions, and a handful of OSI questions. pretty hard stuff, but a pass is a pass right?

thanks to all those who helped!

by the way, i took a network plus course (5 days) studied the book i got in there, and studied the technotes on here (which were really good) and the practice exams. i was making 85-90 on the tests before i went.

I took both the Network+ 2003 and the Network+ 2005 beta exams, and the Network+ 2005 exam had a fair amount of MAC related questions. So, I would safely assume that you had taken the newer Network+ version.

fiasco, there was questions about MAC OSX and how to get them to communicate with different operating systems, stuff like that. nothng on my exam about mac protocols and such though.

GTO, i am going to start studying on my own for the A+ hardware, but with newborn twins, i don't have the cash for the book right now. i'm going to start browsing through the technotes and stuff first. i should have my book in a few weeks.
i work for Lockheed Martin, and it looks like i may get a chance in a few months to go to the Server + course in Anaheim Ca for a week. if i get that chance, i'll do that before i get my A+. i figure with A+, Net+ and Server+, i'll have my foot in the door for other courses like my CCNA, or MCSE. i need a good background as i had very minimal computer experience.
