What will router do after "boot: cannot open flash:"

Hi,
I am browsing the web and found example questions.
One of them is the title.
I would expect the POST to fail and the router not continuing.
However I might be wrong. POST might be done before that. And so if flash fails the router will fallback to tftp and rommon.
Is that correct?

sizeon Member Posts: 321If it can't load the ISO from flash it will broadcast to a tftp server and finally look for one in ROM. If it still doesn't find one the router will give you an error message. Actually the P.O.S.T happens before the OS is loaded so the P.O.S.T still can pass. The only way to get the router working is by downloading a IOS to a tftp server load it into the router from ROM Monitor mode.
