Installing printer on win 2003 server

I'm installing a Xerox M35 WorkCenter on windows 2003 server, using "Standard TCP/IP port".

Before the the installation wizzard completes,
I get the following message:
"Unable to install printer. Operation could not be completed"
I used different drivers and I had the same result.

I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Set up the tcp/ip port via the manufactures guide, it will install the correct entry for the port and ip address, there you can specify dhcp assigned or static ip address, reboot server, then install printer...

Just did a quick research, those printers are build on unix os, you will need to install it via LPR and LPD. Check out the manufacturer's documentation on how to install LPR ports on windows OS systems. You will then need to add the Print services for Unix to clients. If you use standard tcp/ip connection you will lose print jobs.
    What next?

I did one of these installs awhile ago. I think the tech I was working with installed a TCP/IP printing module onto the server.
