using study material from 2009: outdated?
PeterRangelov
I have a book from 2009
Amazon.com: CompTIA Network+ 2009 In Depth (9781598638783): Tamara Dean: Books
I'm concerned about its relevance to 2012 Network+ exam.
Does the exam content change rapidly? Or should I be fine with a 2009 textbook?
Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't say there is much change. There's a bit more security involve. But hey, you still have time. You can still take it till end of August 2012. The N10-004 I mean.

I took the 2009 exam based on a 2005 book -- or something like that, anyway. The only items that will change much are any specific interfaces, standards, or protocols that are new / more common now or old / no longer common now. If you understand the 2009 material well you are likely to pass.

I agree that there shouldn't be to much of a difference, if it is possible try and get a copy of the 2009 objectives and compare them to the current objectives.

Welcome to the forums.
charlesc09 is making a good point. When you register for the exam, ensure you register for the N10-004 exam. If you use this book and plan to take the N10-005 exam, you'll find that there are differences between the two exams.
