IYO, what makes more sense?

I'm working a stable non I.T job and I'm getting calls from agencies for entry level jobs, the thing is I live alone and can't afford not to have my rent paid and get a paycheck. I was wondering if I should call these agencies which are notorious for contract and temp work or should I hold out for something full time and permanent, preferrably within a company without having to go through agencies.
