So I was accepted into an MSIS program, but I am having second thoughts. In an attempt to stay ahead of the curve I've been researching future of IT and it seems everything is pointing to being an IT/Business hybrid. I came across an MS in Business Analytics and it peaked my interest. As I did some further research I saw that some people are using it in the Fraud Detection field and that I thought was pretty cool. What is everyone's opinion?

bryanthetechie Member Posts: 172I think it looks pretty cool, and would cover many of the topics of a specialized MBA. If you want to pay the cost, the degree should leave you pretty marketable in BA. Also check out the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). They have two main certifications, and I see the CBAP listed on job postings regularly. If you are able to work on any BA projects during your degree program, you may be able to use the project hours towards one of these certifications.
