Hey guys,
I'm looking foward to get a good computer with plenty of RAM (16 Gb) for some server virtualization labs and of course for regular daily uses I'm also looking for an external RAID 0 solution to implement since having enough RAM and CPU power wouldn't be enough. With 5 or 6 VMs on do you think that a RAID 0 with 2 eSATA hardrives (7200 rpm) would be enough to have decent performances? or I should push for 4 drives? Any suggestion or opinion on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot

Get an SSD. The performance will be much, much better than RAID0. I ran 15K SAS drives in RAID0 on my home system before switching to an SSD. -
