vSphere 4 HA & Name Resolution

How does highly virtualized vSphere 4 environment deal with HA needing name resolution to work (assuming DNS servers are virtualized)? We had a physical DNS server. Curious to know how others solved this issue.

DNS is needed when HA is first configured, or reconfigured, but it is not needed for HA to function in vSphere 4. Most environments I have set up include a physical DNS server somewhere, though it's mainly because people are still weary of completely virtualizing instead of any real technical reason.
