Answer file using WSIM

I'm having a little trouble understanding how to configure a working answer file. I understand how it works, just, how the heck am I supposed to know and remember which components to add and to which pass? Is there a general rule I can follow? Also how much attention should I give to this portion--namely the building of an answerfile. I know how to make it, validate, and create a catelog. I cant say I understand all the settings though, they seem a little overwhelming to me.

I have read quite a bit on the topic now even did the virtual lab, just the thing is, they all tell you what to enter, what syntax and which components. Should I just use the samples and mod them from there until I am confortable making one from scratch? I didnt work much with Vista, we migrated from XP to 7 so this is pretty new to me, apologies for my being late to the party

Just know how to use them, don't worry about the syntax. I've passed the exam and still don't know it.. as for on the job, you'll always be able to consult google for help with the syntax, so no need to memorize it.

I just did the test today and didn't get not 1 question about answer file components!! Just create it 2 or 3 times get a general feel for it and just remember what program is used to build on (Windows Sim) and you'll be ok with that part of test.
