CUCM updates...?

I've not seen this documented elsewhere, so I'll pose the question...
When applying "minor" updates to CUCM, eg: daylight savings, device packs, etc, do these get applied to the alternate offline partition (and require a partition change), or the current online partition (and just need a reboot)? I know the "major" updates (3GB+ ISO's) get applied to the offline partition and require you to boot into that partition, but I'm unsure about the "minor" updates.
