Packet Tracer

Ok... I'm confused.. I thought Packet Tracer was a free program from Cisco... but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

The last place I found to download it required me to have an account with Cisco... I already have an account, but it's not an academic account... it's just a basic account.

Where can I get this? I'd like to try it out... I've got GNS3... but everyone seems to be using Packet Tracer... and I'd like to check it out.

I like GNS3 more. As it's an emulator, not a simulator.

Packet tracer is only available for Cisco Academy students and alumni.

Packet tracer isn't that good past CCNA.

Get GNS3, and buy a few switches. GNS3 doesn't switch well.

    I have GNS3... I also have a 1720 and 1721... I have Netgear FSM726 managed switches as well.

I already have experience with Cisco equipment.... I just wanted to make sure I had all the stuff... and I've been curious about Packet Tracer... since I've seen a lot of posts about it.

Packet Tracer is good enough for CCNA, if you have netacad account.

Did I miss something? I can't see "CCNP" in this thread before your post.
