DLLwon't register in W7Pro running on VirtualBox
Just spent the good part of 2.5 hours trying to help the boss install a program on his MacBook Air, running Virtual Box and Win7Pro. All the DLL's will register except for xceedcry.dll. Anyone ever run across a reason why 99% of the files will register but one wont? Is there something unique to VB that will not allow it? It gives a 0x8002009 error code.
We spent time with the software developers on the phone, and they have no clue. They have never tried to install in a VB environment on a Mac.

Can you boot the Win7 OS into safe mode and try to install the program. I'm thinking there might be a conflict with another process/application. I've had to install software in safe mode before and/or uninstall applications. -

Sounds like a permissions issue, trying using process monitor to track down what registry key it isn't getting rights to.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/ -

Got it to work. Seems that particular file does not like the whole start>run> etc that all the other DLLs worked just fine. Actually went from the command prompt and it took it right away.
