STP to RSTP Conversion

Hi All,
I am labbing/practicing STP and I noticed something I'm not sure of.
When I changed my first switch (the root) to RSTP and did some show commands, I noticed that the neighboring switches changed their reported interface type from P2p to Peer(STP). This makes sense since the Peer designation indicates the neighbor is running RSTP. So far so good..
However, once I changed the other 2 switches to RSTP, all switches settled on P2p as the interface type. This is where things don't click for me. I would expect that with all switches in rapid mode, that the reported interface type would be Peer(STP) for all.
Can anyone explain why this is not the case?
