connect to Oracle View and put the data into MySQL

There is a department external to mine that look after a large Oracle database. They have a view setup which I can use although not all the data is going to be useful. Ideally I would have the data going into a MySQL database under my control.

Is this possible? What are the options, what do I need to ask the other department for?
