6to4, teredo and 4to6

HI,

Could someone just confirm this for me:

6to4 tunnel is so that IPv6 hosts can communicate over an IPv4 network - creating a tunnel to the other IPv6 host?
4to 6 tunnel is the reverse of the above?

What is a teredo tunnel? - something about dual stack (which allows both IPv4 and IPv6 to run on one host)....

6to4 is one of several options for connecting IPv6 networks over an IPv4 network. The CCNP texts cover how to configure several other options--ISATAP, Manual, and GRE tunnels.. as well as NAT-PT. 6to4 tunnels are automatic but suggested as only a temporary solution since routing protocols can't run over the tunnels. Dunno about the rest--they're outside the scope of the CCNP

teredo not dual stack. dual stack if the device use native ipv6 and 4 too. Teredo tunneling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
