First Exams (TCP/IP)

Hi All,

I've been looking to do an official TCP/IP exam so that I can look a bit better for my boss, I'm in no way ready for a CCNA but would like something a bit more recognisable than Network +

I've got my self an old copy of Exam Cram for MCSE TCP/IP for the 70-059 exam.
But I'm guessing that its very out dated.

If anyone knows or could suggest an intermediate networking exam it would really help me.

CCENT. It's also 50% of what you need to get the CCNA and is general enough to be relevant even if you never touch a Cisco device in your life.

CCENT covers TCP/IP and OSI very well (and way more than Net+)

Considering that the RFCs for the TCP/IP we use now date from 1980, I would say the basic TCP/IP info hasn't changed, but new protocols certainly have been added. Besides the RFCs, there are a number of detailed TCP/IP FAQS (ITPRC - TCP/IP FAQ and The TCP/IP Guide -- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)), and the TCP/IP Guide from No Starch Press is quite good. If you prefer A/V learning, try the free, 5-hour Networking Fundamentals - WBT course at Juniper's site.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.
Ironically I support Cisco routers (800 series) so starting the CCENT would be a very good start.
