    You are using straight through cables to connect the PCs directly to the router. To make this a valid connection, you need to use crossover cables for each PC when connecting directly to a router. Hope this helps, and there is a whole Cisco CCENT/CCNA forum on here, you will get quicker responses there most likely for Packet Tracer activities.
