Intel D975XBX2 won't post with memory slots full
Hello everyone,
I have an Intel D975XBX2 mobo running 2gb (two 1gb sticks) of RAM and C2D e6550 processor. I tried adding another 2gb of identical memory, but it won't POST. I tested all the memory with memtest and Windows memory diagnostic and both passed. One stick will boot individually in each slot. Both channels work individually. BIOS is the most recent, though it's several years old. Reset the BIOS. Tried different timings for the memory but no luck. Same problem with a different brand and speed of RAM.
Any suggestions before replacing the mobo?

E6550 has a different FSB speed than a e6600. The Intel D975XBX2 wouldn't post with the e6550 and 4gb RAM installed. Works fine with e6600 and 4gb of RAM.
